Marine Mechanical Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
Marine engineers
design, maintain, and repair the mechanical systems that are used in aircraft
carriers, sailboats, submarines, cargo ships, and other marine vessels. Because
there are so many different mechanical systems on ships, many marine engineers
choose to specialize in designing certain types of equipment. Engines, pumps,
and electrical systems are a few areas where a marine engineer may choose to
focus.
Salary: $77,638 - $140,390
Education:
Anyone interested in pursuing a career in marine engineering
must complete a significant amount of education in science, technology and
engineering. Degrees in marine engineering are available at the undergraduate
and graduate levels. Bachelors degrees in marine engineering introduce students
to basic concepts of marine propulsion, fluid dynamics and ship design.
Reflection:
I want to become a Marine Mechanical Engineer because I love
to work on projects and being a mechanic for the marines is my dream job.
